Privacy Policy
This policy explains how The Gig Scene handles information when people discover events, create accounts, manage performer or venue profiles, submit inquiries, claim profiles, or advertise.
Information you provide
We process account registration details such as name and email, phone number when supplied, profile and event content, ownership-claim evidence, booking inquiries, advertiser details, uploaded media, and account preferences. Booking contact information is shared with the intended performer or venue management and authorized platform administrators.
Search and location
We process search terms, city and ZIP searches, radius selections, and related filters to return results. If you choose “near me” and grant browser permission, device coordinates are used for that proximity search. We do not describe this as continuous location tracking. Normal server logs may include IP address, request details, and browser or device information for operation and security.
Advertising and measurement
Direct advertisements use search or listing geography to determine whether a paid ZIP-centered radius territory applies. We record limited impression and click events, campaign, placement, and territory information. A privacy-protective visitor hash reduces repeat-impression counting. Direct and house advertising are separate from Google AdSense.
Google AdSense and analytics
If activated, Google AdSense may process cookies or local storage, IP address, browser or device data, advertising identifiers, and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads. Where required, an AdSense request is not made before the required consent signal. Optional analytics, when configured, is controlled separately from necessary technology and advertising choices.
Cookies and similar technologies
Necessary technologies support authentication, security, requested features, and saved consent choices. Optional Analytics and Advertising technologies are managed through Privacy Choices and, for applicable Google advertising traffic, Google’s certified consent interface. See the Cookie Policy.
Payments
PayPal processes direct-advertising subscription payments. The Gig Scene stores subscription and payment status, provider identifiers, amount, and related transaction records. We do not receive or store complete PayPal payment-card or bank credentials.
Public and imported information
Event, performer, and venue information may be submitted by users or obtained from official performer and venue websites, public calendars, ticketing and event providers, structured feeds, APIs, and other public sources. Public profiles may include business information, schedules, media, social links, and contact methods intended for publication.
Corrections, claims, and media rights
Performers and venues may claim eligible profiles and correct managed information. Other correction or removal requests may be submitted through the Contact page. Third-party names, logos, photographs, posters, and promotional media remain the property of their respective owners or licensors. Rights holders may submit a copyright concern without exposing internal importer details.
Service providers and disclosures
Hosting, email, mapping, event-source, payment, security, analytics, and—if enabled—advertising providers may process information to operate their services. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the platform, or in a legitimate business transfer. We do not claim that all advertising-related data falls outside state definitions of sharing; applicable choices are honored through the privacy controls and contact process.
Retention and security
Records are retained as needed to provide the service, preserve useful event and profile history, resolve disputes, detect duplicates or abuse, meet legal and accounting obligations, and protect the platform. Retention varies by record. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may update account and managed-profile information and change optional privacy choices. Depending on location, rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or limits on certain advertising uses. We may verify identity and may retain information where legally required or needed for security and legitimate records.
Children and changes
The service is not directed to children under 13. This policy may be updated as services and legal requirements change; the effective and updated dates identify the current version.
